A new opera by Warwick Blair is in development – inspired by the book Electric by Chad Taylor.

It is still early days in this development of a new full length opera work for the stage. Electric will combine opera, dance, drama, design, video and lighting to create a powerful, engaging and visually stunning tour-able stage presentation. The highly skilled creative team includes Sara Brodie (Director), Tracy Grant Lord (Designer), Tim Gruchy (Video), Margi Robertson NOM*D (Costume), Hamish McKeich (Conductor), David Eversfield (Lighting), Music by Warwick Blair, written by Chad Taylor, produced by Andrew Malmo.

Electric currently sits in the Auckland Festival Watch This Space programme for new work development.
