Venue requirements
Requires a performance area of 17 x 11 metres, minimum. Set height is 4 metres.
The set features a 7.2 wide x 8.5 metre deep stage, with a 4 metre high ceiling. The seating must run hard along the front edge of this 50mm high stage so that spectators in the front row have their feet on stage. In some venues this may require the hireage of scaffold seating. Additionally, there needs to be about 8m depth behind the set.

Sleep/Wake is designed to be presented in a range of different venues, adapting itself to suit each new space and responding to the specifics of the architecture and environment to provide an experience of the performance that is unique to the particular venue. There are no specifications for the floor surface.

Facilities/technical requirements
Regular theatre facilities plus showers, a water supply with hot/cold mixer, broadband internet access (suitable for running Skype).

Touring party
1 director/designer, 4 dancers, 2 performers, 1 AV technician, 1 lighting designer, 1 sound operator, 1 production manager, 1 producer
* An extra member performs remotely from London through Skype technology.
** A third ‘walk on’ performer must be sourced from the local community.
*** A polysomnographer (sleep-science technician) would need to tour with the production in those centres where we do not have contacts with a local sleep-science lab.

Extra events
There is the opportunity to run seminars, lectures, workshops, forums, and post-show talks with the cast and crew of the production. Professor Philippa Gander (the chief scientific collaborator on the project) can deliver a public lecture on sleep-science and/or the creative process of developing Sleep/Wake with The Playground.
